Why relief so often fades
Most self care works the spot that speaks up the loudest. You stretch it, you roll it, it eases for an afternoon, and by the weekend it is back in the same place.
That is not a discipline problem. The spot that talks is usually the one carrying the load for something else. Until that pattern changes, the loud spot keeps its job.
A different way to work
You are not stretching. You are pinning, then moving.
Stretching pulls on tissue that is already being pulled on. With a tool you hold one end of the tissue still and then move the other end yourself. The tool is what lets you do that alone, on your own floor, without a second pair of hands.
Why soft matters
A harder tool is not always a better tool.
Think of the body like a kid facing a bully on the playground. Push too hard and the first response may be to push back. A rigid ball concentrates pressure in one small place. A soft ball gives under the body, spreads the contact and makes it easier to stay with the movement instead of bracing against the tool.
Nurture first. Never overpower.
The nervous system is always listening to pressure. When the input feels too intense, the body may brace. A softer tool makes the pressure easier to adjust, so the work can feel supported rather than forced. We give the body a clear, tolerable signal, then add slow movement.
That give is intentional. In a small published comparison, a soft inflatable ball reached deep tissue with less muscle activity and far less discomfort than a hard massage ball. It is one reason every Relief Ball is designed to squish, not fight back.1
The Relief Code™
The ball supplies comfortable compression. Its give begins the reach. Then guided movement adds the rest. Heat. Compression. Reach. Rotation. Four keys, working together.
The four keys
Every session uses the same four things, in the same order.
You do not have to remember them. The app walks you through each one. But this is what the tools are actually for.
1. Heat
Warm tissue moves. A minute of easy movement, or simply your own body heat through the tool, before anything else.
2. Compression
The ball or the band holds one spot still. That is the anchor, and it is the part a stretch cannot give you.
3. Reach
You lengthen away from the anchor. Long and slow, never yanked.
4. Rotation
Then you add a turn. Rotation is what reaches the layers a straight pull walks right past.
Strong sensation is normal. Sharp pain is not, and every session tells you how to back off.

Questions people ask
Do I need the app to use these?
No, but they work together. Every guided session tells you which tool to reach for and how to place it.
Do I need tools to start at all?
No. You can begin with nothing, and plenty of sessions use a rolled towel or your own opposite knee. The tools give you more places to anchor and more control.
What if I am not flexible?
Nothing here asks for flexibility. You lie on the floor, place the tool and move a small amount. Every move has a supported version.
Is this safe to do on my own?
The sessions are guided and cap how long you hold anything. Strong sensation is normal, sharp pain is not. If you have a medical condition or a recent injury, check with your own provider first.
What if I already have a ball?
Then start with the Relief Starter, or buy the pieces you are missing one at a time.
How long does shipping take?
Most orders leave Boise within two business days and arrive within a week inside the US.
